The Wheelhouse has been delivered!

By Rob Zinke 03/21/2024, 9:30am MDT

With the support of the BFHS CTE Students, the Northern Hills Chinook

With the support of the BFHS CTE Students, the Northern Hills Chinook have our new storage shed. We have named it The Wheelhouse!

Members of the Board met with Mr. Tony Musilek and Mr. Mathew Raba at the Belle Fourche High School Monday Morning along with members of the media and one of our youth skaters to have interviews and load our new shed onto a trailer provided by Sandcreek Landscaping. Black Hills Equipment Rental brought a Telehandler and loaded the shed onto the trailer and it was transported from Belle Fourche to Spearfish and placed at our rink at the Bergan Residence.

We will make some benches and shelving for inside and add a chimney vent so we can have a propane heater inside. This will be a great benefit for our kids-no more needing to get dressed inside their cars next season!

Thanks again to the Belle Fourche School District, Black Hills Equipment Rentals, Sand Creek Landscaping and Belle Fourche Roundup Building Center for their support in making this new storage shed to benefit our skaters.

Badlands Sabres and Yesway!

By Rob Zinke 03/05/2024, 8:30am MST

Yesway and the Badlands Sabres partnered with the Northern Hills Chinook...

The Badlands Sabres and Yesway Convenience Stores, partnered with the Northern Hills Chinook earlier this year by making Jerseys featuring the Chinook and Yesway logos and were worn by the players for two games.

Representatives from Yesway and the Chinook were present to drop the puck for the first game, and we accepted the check from the Sabres last week at the game.

After the games, the jerseys were auctioned off and the sales were donated to us totaling $3,585!

Thanks so much to Yesway for purchasing the jerseys and the Badlands Sabres for partnering with us and wearing these jerseys for pride. Also, we may be a little biased, but the wins the team put up sure blew away the competition with those Chinook Winds....

About the Northern Hills Chinook

The Northern Hills Amateur Hockey Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of youth hockey, figure skating, and recreational skating in the Northern Black Hills of South Dakota.  We invite you to join us in our efforts to bring hockey and a rink to Spearfish. Finding a location for the rink has been challenging to say the least, but hopefully we meet that challenge soon and take it to the next level.

We still have a way to go, and fundraising is our next big step. You can aid the cause by clicking on the donate tab because every little bit helps. If you are considering corporate partnership, please contact one of our board members and we can share our vision and options with you.

Help us bring hockey and ice skating to the Northern Hills. #ItsTime
