Variance Approved!

By Rob Zinke 06/02/2025, 6:30pm MDT

With motions approved through the Planning and Zoning committee and the City Council of Spearfish....

With motions approved through the Planning and Zoning committee and the City Council of Spearfish we have been granted our variance for the parking lot on Hillsview Drive.

With this approval, we are now in full swing for fundraising as we go through our phases. Our first phase will include some minor changes to the lot and we will be building a temporary rink to use for the upcoming season while the permanent sheet is being built. This will be the new home of Chinook Hockey for the future and we will need your help. We have many committees that are looking for volunteers and we also have seats on the Board of Directors available. If you wish in helping, please contact us.

About the Northern Hills Chinook

The Northern Hills Amateur Hockey Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of youth hockey, figure skating, and recreational skating in the Northern Black Hills of South Dakota.  We invite you to join us in our efforts to bring hockey and a rink to Spearfish. Finding a location for the rink has been challenging to say the least, but hopefully we meet that challenge soon and take it to the next level.

We still have a way to go, and fundraising is our next big step. You can aid the cause by clicking on the donate tab because every little bit helps. If you are considering corporate partnership, please contact one of our board members and we can share our vision and options with you.

Help us bring hockey and ice skating to the Northern Hills. #ItsTime
