At the NHAHA Board Meeting conducted in Spearfish June 10th at 6pm, the Board of Directors voted on two new board members elected to join- Melissa Rodgers and Taylor Guthmiller-Martin. These two wonderful ladies will be a great asset to our team who's goal of bringing Ice Hockey and a permanent Rink to the Northern Hills that much closer. Welcome to the board and thank you all for your time and dedication to youth hockey.
The Board also voted on new officers. Our President, Brandy Purcell-Hartman has stepped down with Dennis Servaty who served previously as President, stepping into the Role. Ted Bergan has stepped aside and Rob Zinke has been elected into the Vice-President Role along with Helen Kuehlman stepping out of the Treasurer position with Aleisha Huppler being voted in. Our current Secretary Jamie Danko has taken on another term and will continue to provide great assistance in that role.
Other items discussed during our meeting were:
Working out our Youth Hockey Schedule and approving to include a PeeWee level travel team, a first for the program, to join our already traveling Squirts
If you or someone you know wishes to join as a coach, please contact the board or Coaching Director Ted Bergan.
We had also approved our new Team coordinators at each level and we thank them for their time and assistance in maintaining communications between the teams, coaches and the board. Our Scheduler and Registrar, Megan Bergan, will continue in that very important position and we thank her for her time.
Gregg Fullerton will continue to serve as our representative on the SD Disciplinary committee and Blake Dunfee will continue to be our voting delegate.
The Fundraising committee has had one meeting and also will have one this afternoon.
Our Marketing and Public Relations have many things in store this summer and fall with our new rink phase one starting.
We need more volunteers for our 4th of July Parade floats in both Spearfish and Belle Fourche, please contact Rob Zinke or Derek Lund for more information.
We will be shooting a recruitment video this fall with Destyn Humann from 605 Media, this will be a big benefit for recruiting new players to our program.
Don't forget there is Hometown Thursdays and Downtown Friday Nights in Belle Fourche and Spearfish all summer long-if you wish to help, please see the DIBS page to sign up or just come down and visit the booth!
