Motion to approve previous minutes. Second. Carried. 

 

Finance Report: 

The Current balance as of today is $42,792.39. 

Discussion regarding the previous data entries and bringing the check register and bank statements and quickbooks current. Helen has been reconciling back to 2022. 

Motion to allow Helen to have up to a $1000 adjustment to bring everything current from 2015. Second. Carried. 

Helen will bring forth ideas for an Investment Policy Statement and other ideas for Board to consider.  

The Cowboy State Games -Gillette 3 on 3 tournament was a great experience for the players. We need to develop some goalies. Blake will look into goalie camps this summer. 

 

End of season banquet and awards -April 20th at the Joy Center at BHSU

Plan for equipment return at 5:30PM

Motion to have Potluck at banquet. Second. Carried. 

Rob will send out the list of players and split them up for each board member to make calls. 

    

 

Committee updates:

 

-Rink Procurement: 

• Brandon Valley is wondering if we want to make offer on their chiller

Motion to make offer of $10,000 for Chiller. Second. Carried. 

Brandy will contact Tyler at the city about possible MOU at Hillsview location. 

The Storage Shed has been moved to Bergan’s. Motion to purchase sign to put on the shed. Second. Carried. 

Derek and Ted will bring forth list of materials to insulate the shed, seating and power at next meeting. 

 

-Pond Hockey Tournament: 

Iron Creek Classic January 25, 2025 

• Brandy is working on creating binder on how to put on this tournament 

 

-Technology: Update -Rob

• Submitted next years registration to Sports Engine

  • What changes do we want to make?

• Submitted for safety tracking to the website

 

Discuss plans for DTFN (Spearfish) and Hometown Thursdays (Belle)

• Planning for Downtown Friday nights in Spearfish

  • We will assign two families to each Friday. If they are unable to work that date, it will be their responsibility to trade with another family or find a substitute. 

  • We will not assign July 5th, we will ask for volunteers.

• Planning for Hometown Thursday nights in Belle Fourche

  • Rob will be at the Belle Fourche location. We will ask Jamie and Tiffany if they are interested in helping in Belle. 

• Motion to purchase a second tablecloth. Second. Carried. 

• Motion to order foam pucks. Second. Carried. 

Spirit of cheer will be hosting a kick off to summer at the end of April and they have offered for us to have a table set up. 

Order two more sets of nets for dryland. 

 

-Youth Hockey Program

• Saturday 8-10am at Madison Ice Rink -Spearfish 

• Thursday evening dryland practices at Rec Center were good. Ted mentioned frustrations with kids not listening.  Discussion to make helmets mandatory for all or you don’t practice. 

• Coach certification; Derek and Matt are going to get certified this year. 

 

-Fundraising/Finance -Mark, Helen, Brandy

• Chase the Ace -How can we get the most out of this fundraiser?

  • Each parent will need to take a turn walking around and selling tickets with the players. This will prepare them for Downtown Friday Nights. 

 

• Sponsorship Packages -Brandy 

  • They are updated and ready for 2025. Each Board member is asked to bring forth a minimum of 5 business names for us to contact. 

 

The Budget meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 25th at 6:00pm at Spearfish Brewery. 

Chase the Ace Fundraiser -April 9th,16th,23rd,30th  2024 6pm @ the Stadium

SDAHA 2024 Spring meeting -April 13th at 8:30am @ Sioux Falls Convention Center (Brandy & Blake are attending)
